Using electronic listen sticks one can confirm the presence of leak noise at pipe fittings. The leak position can be verified audibly by surface sounding prior to the any excavation and repair been carried out.

The MK5 Ground Microphone combines a new, high sensitivity sensor with proven ease of use, enabling leaks to be detected over a greater distance, and backgound noise to be more easliy suppressed, than with conventional sounding equipment.

An optional hand-held probe is available for use on fittings or in soft ground conditions. Confirmation of leak location is essential to ensure that excavation is accurately targeted.
